Salad with smoked squid is a very unusual, but incredibly tasty salad. Smoked squid is a fairly salty product, and as an independent dish it would only go well with beer. Making a salad with such squid is a completely different matter. If you combine squid with potatoes, onions, eggs and corn, and even add fresh herbs, the taste of the dish will be simply wonderful. This salad is suitable as a snack option or as an independent dish for breakfast. Among the many appetizers on the holiday table, this salad will also take its rightful place.

To prepare a salad with smoked squid, you should prepare all the necessary products. Pre-boil eggs and potatoes.

Cool the potatoes, peel and cut into cubes. Also chop the eggs and put everything in a deep salad bowl.

Add canned corn, cut the squid into cubes.

Chop purple and green onions, as well as dill. Combine all ingredients in a salad bowl.

Then add mayonnaise and ground pepper to the salad. Mix again. I didn't add salt to the salad. Be sure to taste the dish and add salt only if you think there is not enough of it.

Place the salad with smoked squid into a serving bowl and sprinkle with grated hard cheese.

Bon appetit!

Salad with smoked squid seems to some like a dish of distant exotic cuisine. In fact, in Asian countries, fresh squid is most often used for cooking, but our housewives appreciated smoked squid.

It smells very much like fish and has a characteristic but extremely delicate taste. Ideally harmonizes with many products. Taste isn't the only benefit. Squids are shellfish, so they are completely boneless and very easy to cook.

Salads with smoked squid, even with the most ordinary products, turn out to be culinary masterpieces, and they are also very healthy dishes. In addition to phosphorus traditionally contained in seafood, squid is rich in iron, calcium, magnesium, and iodine. Smoked squid can be called an “insider” in terms of protein content (more than 50 g), which are easily absorbed by the body.

Advice for those watching their figure: as a result of smoking, the calorie content of the product increases. Take this into account when selecting ingredients.

I offer you an original salad with smoked squid. This type of seafood is affordable, but for some reason few people buy it. Not everyone knows what to do with it. This squid makes a hearty and flavorful salad. Fried potato strips add a special touch to this salad.

Ingredients

  • smoked squid 180 g;
  • potatoes (raw) 3 pcs.;
  • fresh or pickled cucumbers 2 pcs.;
  • Korean carrots to taste;
  • boiled eggs 2-3 pcs.;
  • hard cheese 50-80 g;
  • red onion to taste;
  • mayonnaise 4 tbsp. l.;
  • salt and a mixture of ground pepper to taste;
  • vegetable oil 3 tbsp. l.

Preparation

To prepare the salad you will need potatoes. It can be boiled in advance in its peel. For variety and to add a new taste, I recommend frying the potatoes. To do this, peel 2-3 small potatoes and cut into strips.

Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan and place the potatoes on it, preferably in one layer. Cook the potatoes until golden brown; at the end of frying, lightly salt and add ground pepper. By the way, if you prepare this salad in the fall or winter, add pumpkin and potatoes to the pan. Ruddy and aromatic pumpkin strips will add a piquant taste to the finished salad. To remove excess oil, place the fried potato strips on a paper towel for a few minutes.

Remove the membranes from the smoked squid and then cut the fillets into strips or cubes. Remember, if you do not cut off all the film from the squid, some of its pieces will be difficult to chew in the finished salad.

Place smoked squid and Korean carrots to taste in a deep bowl. Chop the fresh cucumber into strips and add to the rest of the ingredients. Use chopped red onion rings in this salad to taste. Green onion stems work great in this recipe.

For a mild taste, add grated hard cheese and boiled eggs to the salad.

All that remains is to transfer the fried potatoes into a bowl and season the salad with mayonnaise to taste. Dressing with sour cream or natural yogurt will make the salad less caloric.

Stir the prepared salad with smoked squid with a spoon, add salt and a mixture of ground peppers if necessary. If you like dill or other aromatic greens, use them in your salad. Immediately after cooking, place the salad in heaped portions on a plate and serve.
