  • flour - 500 g
  • sugar - 70-100 g
  • milk - 150 ml
  • butter or margarine - 180 g (pack)
  • spices - cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, cloves or cardamom - to taste

Preparation:

  1. Combine the dried fruits remaining from the compote, half the sugar, spices, mix.
  2. Heat milk to 40 degrees, add yeast and remaining sugar, mix. Leave the yeast for 15-20 minutes in a warm place, covered.
  3. Remove the margarine from the freezer and chop it with a knife with flour (350 g).
  4. Combine the milk with the butter-egg mixture, add the remaining 150 g of flour, mix.
  5. Knead the dough, divide into 2 equal parts.
  6. Roll out one part and place it in the form in which the pie will be baked. Place the filling on top, then roll out the second layer and cover the filling with it. Pinch the edges of the layers.
  7. Bake the pie at 180 degrees for about 30-40 minutes.


Note to housewives! The dough in this recipe turns out fresh, but very crumbly. It rises slightly as it bakes, so your pie won't turn out dry, and the filling will add sweetness.

Dried fruit compote is not a completely correct concept, since the fruit has already undergone the necessary processing during drying and most often only needs steaming to prepare compote. If dried fruits are boiled, the percentage of vitamins will drop significantly, this is especially true. Nutritionists say that dried fruit compote is healthier than compote made from. And yet, in the summer-autumn period, i.e. during the season of fresh berries and fruits, it is better to prepare compotes and juices from fresh products, but dried fruits are more suitable for the winter-autumn period, when the body lacks fresh vitamins.

A drink made from dried berries and fruits will be a great addition to. Dried fruits contain valuable vitamins, minerals, and so on, so not only the compote itself will be useful, but also the fruits from which it is prepared. For expectant mothers, it is better and tastier to cook compotes from a mixture of different fruits.

How to cook, recipe No. 1:

  • Sort dried fruits and rinse under running water.
  • Pour in cold water and leave overnight or at least 4 hours.
  • For 1 liter of water you need to take 200 g of dried fruit, do not add sugar, so as not to provoke the birth of an unborn child.
  • Next, you need to boil the water and put dried fruits in it, when everything boils again, turn it off and close the lid.
  • Then cover the compote with a blanket or warm towel and leave for at least 2 hours. Compote of prunes, dried apricots and raisins should be left to steep for about 6 hours.
  • Next, if necessary, strain the compote through a colander. If there is not enough sourness, you can add a couple of drops of lemon juice or add a slice of lemon. For aroma, you can put a mint or linden leaf in the compote for 10–15 minutes.

If you don’t want to wait so long because you want compote right now, you can use a faster recipe, but at the same time a little less useful. In this recipe, the cooking time is reduced due to the fact that the fruit releases nutrients into the water not during infusion, but during cooking.

How to cook, recipe No. 2:

  • We sort out the dried fruits and wash them under running water.
  • We put a pan of water on the fire and, after boiling, throw dried fruits into it in the same proportion - 200 g of dried fruits per 1 liter of water. If you nevertheless decide to sweeten the compote with sugar or fructose, then you can reduce the proportions: for 1 liter of water - 120 g of dried fruits. Add sugar to taste, but if you put dates, bananas or figs in the compote, it will be unnecessary.
  • Pears and apples take longer to cook than all other dried fruits - 20 minutes, so we add them first. It would be a good idea to pre-soak them for the same number of minutes.
  • Prunes and raisins can be boiled in just 5-6 minutes. Prunes will help relieve constipation.
  • Cook dried apricots for 10 minutes, leave for 20.

Dried fruit compote during breastfeeding

A nursing mother should not immediately drink dried fruit compote. She should first try each of its components separately. This will help identify the child’s undesirable reaction to a particular product.

  • A nursing mother should not drink dried fruit compote. This is due to the fact that in the first month the child may experience flatulence and bloating; many fruits only intensify this process.
  • Before trying compote, try eating dried fruits in the morning in minute quantities and see if your child has a reaction by the end of the day. If everything is calm, then the next day you can try the same fruit again and, if the baby is in good condition, drink compote on the third day. More often, colic and gas formation are caused by raisins and dried apricots, despite the fact that only 1 thing is enough for a baby to cry for two hours.
  • You should not drink prune compote if your child has frequent loose stools or diarrhea.
  • You should not add berries and fruits to the compote that cause pain - citrus fruits, raspberries, strawberries, peach, mango.
  • The best option would be a compote of dried apples, bananas, and pears.
  • You cannot make compote from a mixture of dried fruits; only one type is allowed. This will allow you to understand what exactly is not suitable for the child. Restrictions apply to mothers of babies under 4 months, when digestive imperfections may appear, then we pay attention mainly only to an allergic reaction.
  • The first time the compote should be drunk in the morning (before 11 o'clock) in a volume not exceeding 50 ml, then for 2 days you should monitor the baby's reaction - the absence of rash, colic, bloating, diarrhea. The maximum portion in the future is 200 ml.

  • Wash dried fruits and soak in hot water for 30 minutes.
  • Pour into boiling water at the rate of 200 g per 1 liter.
  • Cook for 30 minutes over low heat.
  • If you add sugar, you should boil for another 5 minutes.

The compote is ready for use as soon as it cools to 50 degrees.

Dried fruit compote for babies

  • Children can be given from 4–6 months if they refuse juices, since until the age of 8 months, juices are more valuable and beneficial products for the child than compotes and fruit drinks.
  • To prepare compote, children should choose dried fruits, not candied fruits. Candied fruits are fruits boiled in sugar syrup; they are less beneficial and are harmful to a child at this age. Dyes, flavors, and stabilizers are added to candied fruits.
  • During the first test, the concentration should be 2–4 times less.
  • During the first week of habituation, it is better to give only the liquid part of the compote, then you can add pulp crushed in a blender or rubbed through a sieve.
  • Already familiar fruits from, are introduced first. This means that from 4-6 months you can offer pears and apples, from 7-8 - prunes, black currants, from 10 - dried apricots, raisins, raspberries. You should not prepare compote from a mixture of fruits until the child is accustomed to each separately.
  • The maximum daily amount is 180 ml.

  • Apples and pears are soaked until they become soft (45 minutes), then they are washed well under the tap to wash away any stuck grains of sand, etc. Soak prunes, dried apricots and raisins for 30 minutes before cooking. Cut prunes and dried apricots into 2-4 slices.

It is better to boil compote for small children to avoid indigestion and infection. Therefore, first boil water for 10 minutes, then add dried fruits. For 1 liter of water – 100–120 g of dried fruits. Cook apples and pears for 25 minutes, leave for 2 hours. Cook the rest for 10 minutes, leave for the same amount. We do not add sugar or herbs.

From 8 months you can use recipe No. 5:

  • We sort out the dried fruits, wash them, chop them and pour boiling water over them.
  • Boil water for 10 minutes.
  • Pour dried fruits into a thermos (120 g per liter of water) and pour boiling water over it, let it brew overnight.

Such a compote will retain the maximum usefulness; 8 hours is enough for the water to remove most of the vitamins and minerals from the pulp.

How to make compote from dried fruits? Everything is very easy and simple.

To prepare compote from a mixture of dried fruits we will need:

  • 400 grams of dried fruit mixture or to taste,
  • 4 liters of water,
  • 150 grams of sugar or to taste.
  • Recipe for making compote from a mixture of dried fruits.

    To prepare this great drink, I use a mixture of dried fruits, popularly called “compot”. It usually consists of dried apples and pears, apricots, and prunes. There may also be raisins, dried cherries and other berries and fruits that can be dried.

    The compote mixture has a rather unpresentable appearance, which does not in any way affect the taste of the final product. But, unfortunately, the fruits may be moldy or rotten. Therefore, dried fruits need to be sorted, removing everything that has been spoiled.

    I measure out the required amount of dried fruits and rinse them under running water. It’s generally not scary if you take a little more dried fruit. If the compote is too concentrated, it can be diluted with boiled water. We love a light, not rich drink, so I don’t put a lot of berries and sugar in it.

    Then I pour cool water over the compote mixture and leave it for about an hour. During this time, all the dirt will become wet and easily washed off from the dried fruits. Therefore, after an hour, I rinse the dried fruits well again under running water.

    Now you can start cooking compote. Place dried fruits in a large saucepan, fill them with cold water and put on fire. When the compote boils, reduce the heat to low and cook under a closed lid for about 40-45 minutes.

    Now you can add sugar, stir it, bring the compote to a boil again and remove from heat.

    Next, I cover the pan with a lid and leave the compote in this form until it cools down. I usually cook the compote in the evening and let it brew at room temperature overnight. Then I put it in the refrigerator.

    I like chilled compote made from a mixture of dried fruits. It has some special taste compared to just cooled compote.

    So, pour the chilled compote into glasses and serve as a soft drink.
